This place was the best restaurant I ate at in Italy. I did not have a reservation and they had no open ones, but when they realized I was alone, they setup a small little table for me. The manager or owner was so tentative during my meal bringing me a must try free dessert of chocolate cake at the end. They made an exception to give me the veal meatballs half portion for an appetizer and I had the special Buca Lapi pasta for dinner. THE BEST! I also left my credit card on the table and went back the next evening, they remembered me and said they tried to catch up with me outside when I left, but couldn't find me. Honest employees and so grateful I was able to get it back.
Great service and food. You definitely get your fill of bistecca fiorentina, as the steaks served are massive. Service is exceptional, professional, and friendly. Ambience and decor is rustic and charming, making it easy to enjoy a proper, lengthy Italian dinner. Definitely on the pricier side, but in my opinion, Buca Lapi earns the price tag.
Great restaurant with professional staff serving a quality florentine steak. Price is higher than in other local restaurants, but don’t think anyone bothered as many customers were returning tourists and loved the ambience here.
A very local restaurant, really like the design! Recommend the bistecca fiorentina, while the spaghetti was ordinary.
Came here for dinner with my family a few weeks ago and it was outstanding. The atmosphere is so unique. All of the different posters of the different countries were super vintage and cool to look at. The food itself was really great too. We ordered Florentine steaks and they were massive and delicious. I recommend having dinner here if you are in town.
Especially more than half of the ossobuco was fat rather than meat. Nothing was special with the others we ordered. Nice ambience and a good place to disconnect from your phone as there is no roaming. 4* for great service.

My problem with the price is that there are good restaurants at the same level as this restaurant and at half the price. I don't want to name restaurants. But the wise will check first.
In any case, I gave four stars only because of the price because the truth is that the meat is very tasty and for those who don't mind paying twice as much as other places, then this is exactly the place for them.
We walked in with perfectly good money and decent clothing and we were turned away by the old guy. Yes, they had tables available. A member of my party went back in to ask if we could make a reservation for tomorrow and she was going to seat us but he gave the throat cutting motion to her not to seat us. The food may be good but the service is clearly exclusive.
